NAT and i have done dedications as i would call them to the ENTIRE class! going by the previous post. i think IF you haven't confirmed please tell grace who will tell cg who will plan our PLAN B. though i'm sure we'd all rather go to sentosa. but it may be necessary? oh well. BUT! the weather has been good these two days SO. i'm taking it as a sign from God that the weather will be good. i got my family to pray for it during cell! but. continue praying yeah? okay. that's all. oh and i think we'd probably do head count at the BEACH STATION! so don't run off somewhere. yeah. okay. that's all.

this is in response to the class party at Sentosa, which I will (of course) be attending.
I don't think we need to wear our class shirts.

of course, this is only if we have it at Sentosa, due to the horrendous weather patterns of late.

those who are slightly more affected by varying temperatures, please feel free to bear your shoulders in a tank top of sorts. :D

remember that it's potluck, like the previous class party, so bring some food to share with the rest.

i'm very familiar with the cycling route, it's about 5km-10km.
so it won't take too long.

those who are keen on doing it (if possible), then we can go together.
so yeah, that's for the Sentosa plan, which i will dub PLAN A!

i mentioned a WET WEATHER PLAN!
which is a plan used when the weather is wet, quite self-explanatory. :D

let's think of an indoor place near Sentosa.

1. Watch a movie.
(not very practical because I'm assuming Grace has invited Mrs Phua and she may not approve of whatever movie we want to watch. ALSO, lots of us would've watched the movies already.)

2. Window shopping.
(i understand that this is a wonderfully female thing, but it's seriously boring. xD and we won't be able to bond. :X)

3. Have lunch.
(nonagonal duh. that's 9 'duh's, btw. d: remember, nonagon = 9-gon! :D)

4. Something cool. LIKE AN AMAZING RACE?!

Okay.

this is so lame, but if there really IS wet weather (which i think is highly probable), we could
prepare some kind of an amazing race context, where groups of people would have to run around and create havoc amongst innocent bystanders! :D

kidding.
but the amazing race thing is feasible.

we could make it simple yet challenging. :D

for example you'd have to find some kind of a toy for toys 'r' us and you'd have to take a picture with a foreigner etc.

it's easy to plan and super fun! :D
it can last for about 1.5h and pretty much take up some time after we have lunch and stuff..

this is why it's crucial for you to tell Grace if you're going!
so that we can plan something for wet weather.

Grace and class outing comm, please notify me when you know how many are going, because this can be planned very easily. :D

so let's say on tuesday, it's unexpectedly bright and sunny, please follow Plan A and take your food stuffs and sun lotion to SENTOSA, following PLAN A!

if it's dark and the rain is heavy like crazy, then please don't bring food, but bring MONEY.
$20 should suffice for your own lunch, and also bring a jacket.

this is plan B!

wear whatever you want. x)
so please follow the plans according to the weather.

HEY EVERYONE! yeah. if you take a look at the tagboard. you will see that people are starting to worry. BUT. we are WALKING BY FAITH. and PUSH-ING! PRAYING UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS! so. but then again. maybe God doesn't want us to go to sentosa. or someone else is praying that it'll rain for something even MORE important than our CLASS OUTING. i know.. difficult to fathom ANYTHING more important than our CLASS OUTING.

BUT! possible. so. we came up with something ELSE we can do. suggested by CHERYL LEE on the tagboard. we will go to vivo. yes. i know boring. and not gonna help us BOND AS A CLASS. even though we're gonna be separated soon. BUT. we really can't think of anything we can do. the other options were EAST COAST and OTHERS WHICH IS THE BBQ. but east coast is TOO FAR. from vivo. and OTHERS WHICH IS THE BBQ plan cannot be activated because of lack of raw food. and marshmallows. xD so.

THIS IS THE PLAN B:

people will SMS you. MASS SMS. DO NOT get onto the sentosa express cause you'd be wasting your money. so then we will state the place to meet in the sms and then you will all head there and wait for everyone to meet. because i HIGHLY doubt that we will be able to get tickets to a movie for more than 20 people.. we will only be able to... EAT. at the water park. but still we really have to PRAY! okay? xD

yeah. me AGAIN. bleh. i checked the website. 3 days from now is.. monday so that one doesn't help and anyway it isn't appearing. so.. but i checked the.. nowcast. it's raining in sentosa. but that's today. so it doesn't really matter. just checking that it's not just where I live. then i checked the FORTNIGHTLY outlook. and.. uhm. here's what it says.

Walk

its free! but .. tiring. i suggest you all eat stuff that makes you happy. or energetic. or high basically. then you can be enthu and run around. xD like grace said she would cause she ate too much sugar. then she'll probably go home and run around her house. imagine that. and at a fast forwarded speed. xD

Tram
should be free. and definitely less tiring than walking but may be difficult to fit like 20 ppl onto one if there are other ppl. xD and may have to pay. and may be difficult to navigate like which one to take? okay maybe not. i'm not trying to discourage taking a tram even though i really need to lose weight. i put on 2 kg at the fun fair today. bleh. xD i think maybe we can squish ourselves or cheryl lee can sit on isy! xD or sth.

Bus
if the tram is free i suppose this is too. but the routes are more towards the hotels i think. if i remember correctly? i think the tram is a better bet. cause it goes round to the beaches only if i'm not wrong. but it does go to the beach station and i'm pretty sure it goes to siloso beach which is where we're most likely going.
(Grace: Bus is free. It goes to some attractions too. ;D)

Monorail
i don't think we can take this. cause... uhm it doesn't really go where we are planning to go. if anyone knows otherwise please leave a tag. thanks!

hey all! yes. i'm posting. i finally got the password and username right. i tried before. how hard could it be? well. lets just say quite for me. anyway. i'm guessing a lot of you have lives and are out there playing or sth. unlike me. xD anyway. we have some issues. sort of anyway.

FIRSTLY, we need to settle the haunted house thing. most of you shld know it's due on monday. and most of us have seen the proposal courtesy of charmaine and.. co. ? yeah. if you havent seen it honestly i don't think there's time to change it. so if you want to see it basically ask CHARMAINE! okay.

SECONDLY, we want to have a class outing. and i'm sure YOU DO TOO! so yeah. anyway. some very kind souls have come up with plans. they have given it some thought and decided we should have it.. outdoors! like a picnic or sth. but we have thought of the people (shan't mention names) who well. let's put it this way. don't really like the outdoors. yup. so. anyway. the possible venues for the outings would be.. sentosa, BOTANIC GARDENS!! and the best yet, EAST COAST!! yeah xD. so. i suppose. since i'm such a noob at blogging. maybe someone pro coughgracecough could do the poll thing so you all can vote on it or sth. okay. that's all. the important stuff at least. unless you count all the crap i'm gonna type. or might. xD

I'm here to update you on some more anonncements...here we go...

1. MGS Rainbow Carnival Contributions

Some of you guys have not handed it up!!! Even if it is a NIL Return, I need it!! So hand it in by tomorrow!!!! I don't want to chase you for it.

2. MGS Rainbow Carnival-Haunted House

Ms Bong has told us that we can create a haunted house for the carnival. However, everyone in the class must participate!!

Everytime we do a project, only the same handful of people do it. This is really bad, ok? Cuz, our is NOT united!!! So if someone does not want to help, then we will CANCEL IT OFF!! I'm sure you do not want that.

We are suppoesd to hand in the proposal 3 days after the exams end. So later on, we will ask the class again to see what they feel. In the meanwhile, do think of sopme ideas.

3. Class Photos

We have already handed in the $$ for the class photos!! So far, among 3 other classes, our class paid the most!!

4. GIRO Forms

I'm am VERY proud that for once, no one haned in the GIRO Form late!!!

Mess.

Not in lines, but more like the formation of mashed potatoes. o.o
Pleeeease, keep the tables in line.

I also notice that some of you don't put your chairs up on your tables.

Please. It makes the cleaners' jobs so much easier to mop or sweep the floor!
Think of others, not your own convenience.

It takes like, 2seconds to put your chair up.
If your arm aches (since we are aging every minute), then it'd take 4seconds.

It's our noise level.
Pleeeease, other classes are usually having lessons when we have (un)scheduled free periods.

1. Teachers' Day video

This is really important okay. it's due, like ONLY ONE WEEK later, and we haven't started on it AT ALL.

We would REALLY appreciate it if you guys could just sit still, listen for 15 minutes, be enthusiastic about it and give contributions to what we can do for the Teachers' Day video (:
I'm sure you guys have wonderful ideas, but you just don't voice them out.

We've only confirmed the theme of the video, and not the content of it, because previously the content would have been a little too offensive. Abigail has drawn up a tentative plan about the content that we can use...

2. National Day class decorations

I don't think the class has been fully decorated for National Day yet, so could the whole class pitch it and help? It's always the same few people who are doing the work and the rest of the class is always just slacking around and making so much of noise.

It's unfair if only a few people are actually doing the work and the whole class gets the credit. I know last Friday was kinda festive-ish, so please help on Monday okay, 'cause Monday's the day that teachers are gonna come round and judge.

Just wanted to post sth to cheer you guys up......

Singlish Poem

Wah! I heard we all now got big big debate.
They said future of proper English is at stake.

All because stupid Singlish spoil the market,
want to change now donno whether too late.

Aiyoh! Ang mo hear us talk like that also want to faint.
Even our our "U" graduates speak like Ah Beng, Ah Seng.

Singlish is like rojak, everything throw inside anyhow mix.
Got Malay, Indian, Chinese and English, can give and take.

When you donno something is under table or chair,
you ask loud loud, "Oi! Under where? Under where?"

When you see somebody behave very bad,
you scold him, "Aiyah! Why you so like that?"

When you warn your kids to be careful all the way,
you tell them, "Careful har, you better don't play-play!"

This kind of standard how to pass?
Wait, you sure kena last in class.

Other people hear you, say you sound silly.
So like that how to become world-class city?

Basically Singlish got good and got bad.
Aiyah! Everything in life is all like that.

Actually Singlish got one bright side.
I am talking about our national plight.

Other people all say we all got no culture.
All we got is alot of joint business ventures.

So we got no culture to glue us together.
End up we all like a big bunch of feathers.

Wind blow a bit too strong only we fly away.
Everybody all go their own separate ways.

But actually we all got one "culture" in Singlish.
It's like rice on the table; it is our common dish.

I know this funny "culture" is not the best around
so we must tahan a bit until a better one is found.

I donno whether you agree with me or not?
I just simply sharing my thoughts.

Just dropping in to update you guys on the quite outdated win of the century!
We beat 1H & 1S in benchball, which is a mean feat! :D

Sorry this came so late, but I only have time now. :X
OKAY!

So we started the game, HYPED UP AND READY TO GO!
We were pretty psyched that it was only 7 players from each class at one time.. x)

SO YEAH!
We played our hearts out.

Lost very badly in the first half, but suddenly we BUCKED UP! :D
& We ~~trashed~~ beat the others. (:

Just like the sporting winners we are. ;)
The winners were supposed to be the first team to 15 on their bench, but we were the closest by the time the bell rang. (:

1H had 9, and 1S has X amount of people.. (:

Hi....it's me again!! Oh...u don't know. Well, it's me Jaspreet!! Hahahaha:))

I am typing this cuz I and Grace did not manage to give the whole announcement abt Teachers' Day. I noe u must be wondering why they get to celebrate while we don't but....it just like that.

So anyway, here are the details:

Theme: -TEACHERS- "Academy Awards 2008"

Create a 2 minute video OR a 3 minute performance (of any genre) abt a few teachers (must include at least form AND co-form teachers) who teach our class. It will be showcased in front of the whole school at the "Awards Ceremony" during the Teachers' day Concert.

Submit the VIDEOS by 4th August to Christelle.

Auditions for performances will be held on 7th August.

If you have any ideas, pls do not hesitate to approach Grace, Chrissy or me:DDD

Pls contribute willingly. And do let everyone noe to come to the class blog to see the details.

We will be discussing this in class.

Glad to see everyone is excited to get back to school. Not!! Anyway...ever since we came back from school, we have been getting more and more h.w. but it's all worth it. yeah, rite. So, I just wanted to go thru some Admin stuff with u guys.

1. Well, I have 1 more 'My God Shelthers' sticker...did anyone not get it...just checking, cuz it's unfair if I keep it. Proberbly, it was meant to be for Tasha.

2. Our class noticeboard has been fixed but it does not look as BEAUTIFUL as before. So, juz wanted to see who wants to change the design and if so, how??

3. Everyone is encouraged to buy the chocolates for the debate team by 3rd July!!

4. Everyone is also encouraged to go for the Love MGS function tonight. Don't 4get to get those special edition limited guitar picks. ooooohh...pretty!!

5. Also, do buy the Drama night tickets....$15 each.

6. Just a reminder, do not put or leave ur belongings at the back of the class. That applies to u too, Keerthana:D

7. Lastly, don't forget abt our class project for GEL (sry, christelle, u did have much of a choice to disagree). I hope everyone is being invovled in it.

Okay, everyone's been dying for updates, I know >.<

So I'm gonna update, for my second time! :x

1. Anne and Charmaine have already paid the T-shirt vendor for our class tees and he said that he should be able to give them to us by next week :D So, ANTICIPATE ITS ARRIVAL! :D

2. There has been a box placed at the front of the classroom for the collection of used printer cartridges. So if you have many used cartridges which you collect for no good reason (xP), please donate them to the school alright! CLEAR ALL THAT BULK! xD The person said that she will come back to collect the box (hopefully with many cartridges) in 2 weeks.

3. There is a speech competition next Thursday (10th April '08 - stated in the school diary) which is going to take up the first 4 periods of the day. It's gonna be held at the M E Lau Hall - I presume that flag-raising is going to be held there? It most probably would be there...I will ask Mrs. Phua about it - so you M&Mers will know where to go for flag-raising :D

4. The GIRO deduction date is going to be on 3rd April '08. If you have not handed in your acknowledgement forms, please pass them to Anne by 3rd April' 08 (which is effectively tomorrow :x). If you did not receive any form, please take the initiative to approach Mrs. Phua and ask if you can make payment through cash/cheque (then pass it to Mrs. Phua or Anne ASAP). Thanks! :D

5. Prefect Elections (7th - 10th April '08 - stated in school diary). Vote for ANNE, CHRISTELLE, JENYI and/or CHARMAINE! :D

6. Please fill in your ROCs 3 form and hand them in on 3rd April '08. A NIL reply is required if you don't intend to donate anything. If you forget to bring them, please either bring it on Friday or next Monday. Next Monday is preferred as I don't think it's going to be very easy collecting forms on Friday :x

2. CLASS PARTY! :DD (YAYY!)

As you all know, most of the classes are having class outings during the March holidays. But since we are the BEAUTIFUL SEXY 1M, we are having a party. The fun kind!

It's still in its planning stages, but it is most likely at the function room of my condo! :D (I am Christelle in case you don't know yet. xD)

My condo (Blossomvale) is RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD. We just have to cross the overhead bridge and turn left at Esso.

The function room is big enough for all of us (and teachers if they're coming xD).

I have an idea... This is an idea. Not a suggestion. An idea which isn't a suggestion. :D

I think that if we do end up having it at my condo's function room, we can handle the food and drink problem by allocating each and every 1Mer with one responsibility.

Like one person can bring chicken wings, another one can bring sandwiches, something like that.

As for games.. I HAVE A FEW! I'll get to Arpana about that. (:
If your home is big, spacious and near by, please try to offer your home for our class party! :D

okays, here are some announcements (:

1 - if you have not handed up your Reading Journal Entry 1, please do so as soon as possible. you wouldn't want to have marks deducted right? oh yes, a reminder: please do not tear entry 1 off, just hand the whole thing to christelle (:

2 - there will be a history test on 31th jan and the chapters tested would be chapter 1 & 2. so please do remember to study and revise those chapters alright? (:
(the date printed in the revised exam schedule is wrong.)

3 - there is going to be a group project about scientists/chemists/physicists/biologists for physics. so for those who have not told the physics rep. which scientist they're doing, please do so as soon as possible so that she can hand the namelist to mrs. sim (:

4 - the upside-down drawing of igor stravinsky is due on 30th jan, thursday by art period (: also, the art textbook is already published and available at the school bookshop, but please don't buy it until mrs. chew confirms that she will use it as the pricing is quite steep and if she doesn't use it in the end its going to be a great waste of money.

5 - Volume B for Science Practical Book is also available at the school bookshop (: it is priced at $5.50 if i remember correctly when you use the popular student discount card. however, if you don't use the discount card, it will cost around 30 cents more.

6 - the oral presentation will be held during Language Arts period at anytime in Week 5, so please be ready okay? (:

7 - please regularly file in worksheets/handouts/notes just in our teachers will conduct a spot check on our files. also, for some subjects, such as Language Arts and Physical Science, dividers are needed to categorise the papers inside. you can either purchase some dividers, or use foolscap paper or construction paper as dividers (:

8 - after finishing your first reading journal book, please exchange your books with a friend to read alright? (: ms. gan said that we have to finish reading all the books that were distributed in class by june.

we're also going to be released at 10AM on chinese new year eve, and i think we won't be having any lessons, just in case anyone didn't know yet (:

it's custom-made, non-navigational, so it's way easier for everyone to just scroooooll.

anyway, here are a few school reminders:
1) Please remember that in Week 4 (Jan 21-27) , we will be having a literature test on 'The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds' as well as a geography test on the first chapter in the textbook. The format of the Lit test was not specified by Ms Gan but she hinted that it could be multiple choice. I have no idea about geography. Sorry peeps! :D

2) On Monday 28th Jan, please hand in your Literature 'Analyzing Dialogue' work (on the the book that Ms Gan gave each of us) before you run off for chapel and abandon the classroom. (REMINDER: LAST PERSON TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM, PLEASE TURN OFF THE LIGHTS AND SAVE THE EARTH. :D) Leave the booklets on my desk. Please stack it up neatly as I will come in and count the books and figure who to chase for the homework. (:

3) Reading Journal Entry 1 is due on the 28th Jan, Week 5. Hopefully, you would have finished your book and the questions by then. Once again, please leave them on my desk neatly before school. Your help is greatly appreciated. :D
